The Body Shop - Expert Facial Masks

January 18, 2017 0 Comments

I can't describe my love for this amazing product from The Body Shop that was launched not long ago. They are 100% all natural, no animal tested super food masks formulated in tackling specific skin concerns. I purchased two out of the five launched masks - Chinese Ginseng & Rice and  Himalayan Charcoal.

The chinese ginseng & rice mask aims to brighten, even and revitalize skin, removing dullness. As this was purchased for my mum to try, she had been telling me how her face feels super soft and the unevenness on her skin has slightly improved. She has been loving it so far.

I, on the other hand have been using the Himalayan Charcoal. I have never used a charcoal mask before and was excited to use and see results. The product is a mud-textured exfoliating mask which deeply cleanses and detoxifies the skin. It helps unclog and refine pores, giving my face a purifying glow. The mask mixture consists of Himalayan charcoal, green tea leaves and tea tree oil. When I first applied the mask, I did feel a slightly tingling and cold sensation as mentioned by the Body Shop beauty consultant. I could feel the product working on my skin as it gets tighter and upon removal, I could see that my face looks brighten, pores tighten and excess oils been extracted out, the best feeling of all, my face feels super soft. The mask drys quickly, within 10mins and its also easily removable.

As you know my skin has been a little messed up lately due to my acne, however I do see an improvement after I have started using the mask every 2 days per week as recommended. I am definitely gonna be masking alot more.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Review

January 06, 2017 0 Comments

These Ultra Matte lipsticks by ColourPop Cosmetics have been creating a hype in the beauty world that I had to get them and join in the bang wagon.  This brand itself has a wide range of lipsticks and makeup and retails for $6.00 AUD, however shipping to Singapore is expensive to the amount of lipsticks I wanted to buy, so I ordered mine from an online store called The Makeup Bag, which purchases the authentic products directly without charging shipping fees. Each lipstick is S$13.00 and delivery of 3-5 working days.  The seller has been indeed very nice and patience in answering to all my enquirers, as I kept changing my order.  If your interested in getting some lippies for yourself,  I do recommend to check the page out.

I settled for these 4 colours - Lax, Avenue, Tulle & Better More. With all the reviews seen and read online, I have to agree with my fellow beauty gurus on the product. Its formula, is amazing, super pigmented that glides on smoothly and effortlessly, then dries to a velvety matte finish. It is very long lasting and does not require much touch ups. I also like how eye catching and see-through the lipstick packaging is with the brand name in a holographic logo. My favourite purchase out of the four is Tulle, a prefect everyday go to colour. Overall, I am sold with these ultra matte lipsticks and highly recommend to give them a try, if you have yet to try them. I am tempted to get more of the other colours and products available from the brand.

 Till my next post,

Acne Episode

July 19, 2016 1 Comments
It has been awhile I have spoken about acne but if you have read my previous post, you will know that i suffer from mild acne on my cheek area and that my skin was progressing well after so long, until the recently, I have noticed small breakouts forming on my cheeks that somewhat became worst. I am not very sure of what might be the cause for my acne to reappear, surely it did take me by surprise.

My cheeks looked so red as if I have slapped on a pack of blush. Everyday has been a struggle because whichever product I had used before was now not helping me fight away my acne. I know using makeup on the acne is the last thing you would want to do, but I felt like I have no choice since I work facing customers and I did not want people coming up to me looking all grossed at my face.

Having the dependence of makeup surely did give me confidence to hide my acne/ redness until I remove my makeup, that is when i feel and see the ugliness and cry staring at myself in the mirror. Even though my family members have been very supportive and constantly reminding me that my skin condition is not the worst. I however, have so many questions on my mind - "why does it have to be me suffering", "why isn't anything I do working" or "why can't I have spot free skin".

I did see my GP and have asked for a referral letter to see a dermatologist, till that appointment is fixed in a month's time, he has given a lotion to apply which may reduce the size of the acne a little. I did re-looked into my entire lifestyle by keeping track on my meals, my fluid in takes, facial cleansing routine and changing minor ways in order to get me seeing a change. Day by day, I try not to be bothered by my acne, even though it is constantly on my mind. I have been placing ice onto my cheeks as and when I could to help reduce the redness and did see slight improvement, but I am still not all confident to leave home barefaced.

I truly understand what it must feel to be stared in public for my peers whose are dealing with acne that are alike or worst from what I am sharing. I hope that every acne sufferer does find a healing solution on dealing with acne so you are not constantly bugged on worrying. I would be happy to share any solutions/tips that have worked for me and the updates with my dermatologist.

Till my next post, Take care

Victoria Secret - Secret Escape Body Butter

June 17, 2016 0 Comments

When buying Victoria Secret products I usually pick out their body mist, body wash and lotions, but surprisingly, I leave out their body butters, but for some reason I decided to purchase one last weekend. I bought the older packaging of the newly improved Victoria Secret's Fantasies range - Secret Escape.  This body butter is amazeballs and had to give this product its worth sharing.

A deep-softening body butter containing jojoba butter with scents of shea freeshia and guava flowers gives off a warm and floral feeling. Ahh.. If you love such combinations, trust me this product is for you too.  Its texture and after effect is what  I am bowled over, that has also made me to smell my skin- silly me!!. The rich thickness does not feel sticky or tacky on my skin, leaving skin feeling so smooth and is a hit for me. Packaging is pretty standard like many other body butter brands available.

Overall, I am glad to have purchased it, eventhough I could have opted for the newly improved formula from the fantasies range, whichever way, I do love this product and suggest to anyone reading this to give the older formula  a try, if a VS store near you does still carry it, surely to not regret it.

Let me know in the comments below, what different range of body butters I should try from Victoria Secret.

Till my next post!!

SH-RD Protein Hair Cream

May 17, 2016 0 Comments

I was introduced to this hair care brand by my hairstylist when I was over at the saloon - The Hair Styler to get my ends trimmed. I was telling her how my hair have become so dry and frizzy over the years, and the fact of using heated hairstyling tools and sometimes ignoring the step of applying a heat protector before styling. She then recommended, I try out SH-RD Protein Hair Cream. It is a Taiwanese hair care line that had been launched for sometime now and have users of the product seeing some positive results. Enriched with herbal Rosemary and multi-vitamins, it addresses hair that has been damaged, dry, frizzy, excessive use of chemicals etc. by restoring lifeless hair back to health.  I have not seen it being sold widely at any departmental stores, and bought mine directly from the saloon.
Since using it for more then three months, I have noticed a difference, my hair is no longer as frizzy and drying as I had before and now feels soft and manageable.  So how did I use this cream?  Well, I apply a tiny amount of the product onto my hair before using any heated hairstyling tools, it acts as a heat protector and then apply another tiny amount when I am done styling to lock in the heat, making hair stay soft and shiny. Not to mention it does  give a nice smelling scent too. I also use this cream to untangle my damp hair, it manages running a comb through my hair much easier. Would I recommend? Definitely, like how it has made me notice the difference in my hair, it could do the same for your's too..

Sally Hansen - Vitamine E Nail & Cuticle Oil

March 06, 2016 0 Comments

Who doesn't love painting your nails and giving them a pop of colour once every month. Well I do, and just last month, I decided to get a gel manicure and pedicure done for the first time. I enjoyed the fact that gel manicures do last for 3 weeks to a month, however  I disliked every bit of the removal process done on my nails. My nails became so brittle, dry and broke easily. It did bothered me and knew I should get something done.  Sticking to the brand that I knew best and having heard positive reviews, I had to try out the
Sally Hansen - Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil.

This product helps strengthen and nourish nails and cuticle. With its built into cap brush applicator, it is very simple and hassle free to apply. Massage the oil well onto the nails for about 5-mins and wash it off before applying any nail polish. If your not applying any nail polish, you can leave on your nails bare or use a hand cream to seal in the smoothness of the oil. I like to use the oil every night before bed and have been doing so for almost a week now and have seen a difference.  My nails are no longer brittle, dry or breaks easily and they look strong and healthy as ever.

There anything to dislike about this product when it has already given results and would recommend anyone with the same issue to try it out.

Till my next post!!

NXY Conceal Correct Contour Palette in Medium - 3CP02

February 26, 2016 4 Comments
When it comes to under eye coverage, I usually leave that section out of my makeup routine because I feel that I do not need to conceal them fully with another product apart from my foundation, and not that I do not have any dark circles but because they were always covered by my glasses most everyday except on days when I am wearing my contact lenses that I notice the difference between a concealed under eye area gives to my entire face or makeup look.

Sometimes the conceals I have work well for a few good hours , until I notice my dark patches bopping up and would need a touch up. Having learned recently that a colour corrector could help fix this completely, I headed to Sephora in search of a colour corrector, only to be introduced by a makeup assistant at the NXY brand section on this NXY Conceal Correct Contour Palette in Medium - 3CP02. I was not sure if those colour correctors he chose would work on my medium darkbrown skin tone but after he tried them out on my under eyes before I went ahead to purchase, the colours actually suited and the finish was amazing.

I have been using the conceal and my views on this palette is that all six shades are brilliant,  does not crease or transfer, creamy textured even though blending might be a little tough, so I suggest using your finger instead of a conceal brush.  The product does last for a good  8 to 10 hours without a need to re-touch. Overall, Í am pretty satisfied with this palette.
Till my next post!!
