I have never been to Thailand before, and that is where my family and I decided to go to for our family vacation for the year. So on 16th Oct 2015 we packed our bags and flew off to Thailand for a 5 day stay.
The feeling of  being in a plane after a long time, got me even more excited about the entire vacation. Anyway, upon reaching and clearing through customs, we decided to take the train (go local)  to the hotel we were staying at as we didn't have much baggage with us. Our accommodation was a cozy budget class hotel at Petchaburi Road called - Bangkok City Hotel a quarter mile from BTS Ratchathewei station. The rooms were quite small, nevertheless we had a great stay and since the hotel provided breakfast every morning, which made things slightly easier for us to  carry out our planned itinerary . Lunch and dinner was mostly trying out local dishes at various places in the city. The first two days, we went on tours we booked from Bangkok Tours - Asia Discovery. We visited the beautiful temples, took a boat ride to the floating market, went to watch the elephants and crocodiles show. The remaining three days, we went shopping!! We had a chance to go to the weekend market at Chatuchak. Its a huge place (impossible to cover in 1 day) with lots to see and buy.  Since our hotel was a walking distance to Platinum Mall, Pratunam Market and Big C, we spend most of our time shopping there as well as the street stores along the walkways. My crazy shopper instinct went slightly out of control and bought a ton of clothes, shoes and bags (which I'm still finding a place to store them). Seriously, each mall you go to,  there is a least something you will be drawn to buy cause not only its very affordable but the quality is good too.

Overall, I really enjoyed the entire trip. Thailand is a beautiful country from its heritage and cultural places to being a truly shoppers paradise, I'm glad I had a chance to visit Thailand, and I know that I will be making a second trip back sometime soon to explore more places.

  Till my next post..
