Tea Tree Oil & Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion.

December 21, 2015 1 Comments

I have been dealing with mild acne problems on my cheek area for a long time. The worst times my acne would act up has to be during the "time of the month". I have tried so many products including creams recommended by my doctors hoping for a positive outcome but none have worked its magic on me.  I did hear about The Body Shop's tea tree range for problem skin, but I never went on trying any of it, until one day I decided to walk in to store to find out more about the range, since I have read and hear positive reviews about it, that I came out of the store buying  two products as my try out  -  Tea Tree Oil & Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion.
It says that the tea tree blemish fade night lotion helps improve the appearance of blemish-damaged skin and I have to say it did work its magic on my face (by far my favourite product).  I did see a difference after a week of using the lotion. The lotion is very light on the skin and doesn't leave my face feeling oily or sticky in the morning.
As for the tea tree oil, I had a 50/50 satisfaction with the product. When I first applied it on my face it sting a little, as I begin to apply it regularly on my face, I noticed on some days my acne would reduce and on some days new ones would starts popping out.  I stopped using it for sometime now, and have noticed that I don't have any new pimples forming, even though I am still using the blemish fade night lotion. I am not sure what might be the cause for me to experience that or probably my skin is too sensitive.
Eventhough the product was suppose to be suitable for all skin types, guess it wasn't for me. Apart from that, I did came out loving one of the purchases I bought, so its a fair chance.

Velourlips Matte Lip Creams

December 17, 2015 0 Comments

Finally got my hands on this lip product called Velourlips Matte Lip Cream by Australis that I have been wanting to get.  I have read so many reviews on this lip product, and wanted to give it a try for myself. I picked out 2 colors from the range and a lip liner. First is a maroon color lip cream called Buda Pash and a purple pinkish color called Doo - Bai. The lip liner is called My Fair Lady.  As you can see from the swatches, all the colors look very matte and pigmented. Apart from the lip liner which is amazing, my only downside is on the lip creams. Its not as creamy comparing to my other matte lip creams I own, and did make my lips feel slightly dry.  I also felt that whenever I reapply  the product, it create an uneven cakey finish, which requires me to remove the product off before reapplying. Overall, I would say its a pretty ok product and I love the colors, but I don’t think I’ll be wearing them on a regular basis.

Vacation Destination - Thailand

October 31, 2015 0 Comments

Wat Trimitr

Marble Temple

I have never been to Thailand before, and that is where my family and I decided to go to for our family vacation for the year. So on 16th Oct 2015 we packed our bags and flew off to Thailand for a 5 day stay.
The feeling of  being in a plane after a long time, got me even more excited about the entire vacation. Anyway, upon reaching and clearing through customs, we decided to take the train (go local)  to the hotel we were staying at as we didn't have much baggage with us. Our accommodation was a cozy budget class hotel at Petchaburi Road called - Bangkok City Hotel a quarter mile from BTS Ratchathewei station. The rooms were quite small, nevertheless we had a great stay and since the hotel provided breakfast every morning, which made things slightly easier for us to  carry out our planned itinerary . Lunch and dinner was mostly trying out local dishes at various places in the city. The first two days, we went on tours we booked from Bangkok Tours - Asia Discovery. We visited the beautiful temples, took a boat ride to the floating market, went to watch the elephants and crocodiles show. The remaining three days, we went shopping!! We had a chance to go to the weekend market at Chatuchak. Its a huge place (impossible to cover in 1 day) with lots to see and buy.  Since our hotel was a walking distance to Platinum Mall, Pratunam Market and Big C, we spend most of our time shopping there as well as the street stores along the walkways. My crazy shopper instinct went slightly out of control and bought a ton of clothes, shoes and bags (which I'm still finding a place to store them). Seriously, each mall you go to,  there is a least something you will be drawn to buy cause not only its very affordable but the quality is good too.

Overall, I really enjoyed the entire trip. Thailand is a beautiful country from its heritage and cultural places to being a truly shoppers paradise, I'm glad I had a chance to visit Thailand, and I know that I will be making a second trip back sometime soon to explore more places.

Dinner at Sufood Restaurant

September 29, 2015 0 Comments

Last night my colleagues and I went to dinner at a meat-free vegan restaurant called SUFOOD located at Raffles City. It was my first time there.  Hailing from Taiwan, the restaurant serves up Italian inspired dishes with an Asian blend.  The first dish served for the night was the trio appetizer, explained by a staff that it should be eaten from left to right, in order to appreciate the different taste in flavors.  Shortly after our starters arrived. While my colleagues chose salads as their starter, I chose to have freshly cut fruits with strawberry yogurt. Nothing much to say about the fruits but the presentation of each dish that came to our table was nicely presented. Next was the soup dish, I had the pumpkin soup with small chunks of pumpkin inside, somehow it didn't really impress me cause I felt it was a little bland. Following which came the main dish, I had the Macaroni Alfredo Casserole which did remain me of lasagna. Filled and layered with pasta, mushroom, tomatoes, broccoli and lots of cheese, this dish was surprisingly yummy!! For dessert, I chose  Vanilla Ice-Cream with Chocolate Sauce and Coffee. I was told by the staff that in order to truly enjoy the ice-cream, pour the chocolate sauce onto the ice cream and the chocolate sauce magically becomes hard.

Overall the dinning experience was  great. I enjoyed myself not only by the company of my colleagues but also with the food I had.  Price range varies from $25++ for a full 8 course meal. Express set lunch at $18++ per person  & A la carte is also available at your preference. Reservation is a must.

Cafe Hop - The LAB

My  ideal Sunday would be going to a café for a brunch or dinner,  ordering up some mouth watering food and spending quality time  with  friends while watching the world go by.   My post today is on a café themed like a mad science lab. Located at Jalan Pisang The LAB offers a variety of delicious cuisines and desserts. Its my first time exploring the café and I did like the cozy, scientist theme ambiance and friendly staff.
The LAB café is a go to spot for all café hoppers. A little note to keep in mind- arrive early to beat the queue.  For latest updates,  do check out their social media sites.

Graffiti Weekend

Today's outfit is my kind of style that I'll wear to school or thrown on a lazy dress up days.
I love the fact that you don't  have to put in so much effort and time into styling this outfit.
A tip I would recommend, is that in order for the entire look to stand out, get a shirt that gives out a pop of colour to the t-shirt you are going to pair it with and accessories the look by adding a statement necklace or some chunky arm candy.

Hope you like it and have a great week..

First Day of 2015

January 03, 2015 5 Comments

Hey dolls! My first day of the brand new year 2015 well spent with my dear friends.  We headed to the National Museum of Singapore to get some shots of the beautiful architecture and also for a mini photo shoot.  After having spent most of our afternoon in the museum, we decided to head for dessert at a café called Teddy and Me at Marina Square. The café is themed after the famous comical show Mr. Bean and its one of the must go cafes in Singapore. Its a little pricey but  has a variety of desserts to choose from.(just look at the pictures). With our stomachs filled with the yummy desserts, we went off to Gardens by the Bay to get a glimpse of the magnifying display of light sculptures. The entire place was so breathtaking and with the night sky in the background, what more can you ask..  I had an amazing time yesterday and with the company of my favourite girls I couldn't ask for more :) Here are some of the captured moments.

Share with me on how you spent your new year's day, would love to read them..Till my next post
