Titanic : The Artifact Exhibition in Singapore

April 25, 2012 0 Comments
Hey Dolls,

Last Sunday evening, my girlfriends and I decided to go check out Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, that was held at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands Singapore, and we had an awesome time .  Tickets were about $20 per person and it is worth paying as it was an eye opener for us as we got to learn, view and experience what it was like to be in a ship that was now part of history.  We got to see actual artifacts that were found in the ship - old wine bottles, old cookery items, whistle pipe, binoculars and lots more.  As we entered the exhibition for our tour, we were given a boarding pass each with actual names of passengers who boarded the ship and
our task was to find out if they survived or died that faithful night, at the end of  our tour.  What i really liked about the entire exhibition was that it made you feel like you're really in the titanic, and also leaves you wondering what the actual passengers on board must have  felt when the ship hit the iceberg and when  water was rushing into ship,  and how lucky were the 706 passengers who survived among the two thousands passengers.  Anyway all i can say that, it's really amazing and would encourage anyone to go check it out..

Here are some pictures of the exhibition.

D.I.Y Collage

April 15, 2012 0 Comments
Hey Dolls,

I'm gonna teach you a way that can help jazz up your bedroom walls, cupboards, or maybe as a gift to someone etc. by doing your every own collage of the things you fancy, love, inspire, like basically anything of your choice.  It's really simple to do and inexpensive, plus you'll have an amazing time doing it :) So the things you'll need to get started :

  • Some old magazines
  • Scrape Booking Paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Blu tack
Start off my going through the old magazines looking for interesting pictures and wordings that captures your attention.

Using a pair of scissors cut out the selected pictures and wordings. Once that's done, arrange them on the scrape booking paper so it gives you a rough picture on how you'll want it to look like and to see if you need more pictures or wordings to fill up any empty space.

After sorting the final layout, glue the pictures and wordings on the scrape booking paper and allow it to dry. Take some blu tack and stick it on to the back of the paper so you'll be able stick the collage anyway in your bedroom :)

Ps. the collage I did is a fashion/food inspired collage. The ones I took from the web may help you get started on one :) So do let me know if you did try this mini project out :) xx

Neon Boom for Spring/Summer 2012

April 07, 2012 0 Comments
Hey Dolls,

So since Spring is here, i found some pictures of the Neon Trend that will inspire me to get ready and is also illustrative.   I have always been willing to try this trend but I'm not too sure if I'll be able to get the colours right or if the colours looked good on me etc, so after seeing these pictures that i have taken from  various websites, as my guide it has encouraged me to try out this trend step by step starting with bags by mix-matching them with my outfits giving the outfit a pop of colour and then moving on to shoes , lipsticks and not forgetting bright nails :) Another thing would be wearing coloured jeans as it easier to stay in trend and colour  block. I'm really excited to start and I'm also encouraging  people like me who was afraid at first in following this Neon Trend, to give it a go and who knows you'll have as much fun mix-matching..  xx

Minnie Mouse Nail Art

February 29, 2012 0 Comments
Hey Dolls,

Just a quick and simple post to teach you girl on how i did my Minnie mouse nail art and thanks to those who liked the picture i posted on my facebook page... Anyway i must it's really easy to do and you'll have fun doing it and if the design doesn't come out that perfect don't worry just keep practising and trying and you'll be perfect :)  So let's get started ......

What you need:  Base Coat & Top Coat , Red nail polish, White nail polish and Black nail polish, A dotting tool , toothpick or bobby pins and some french nail strips.

Steps:
  1. Paint your nails with a base coat as it helps protect your natural nails from the harsh  nails colours.
  2. Then with the help of the french nail strips, paint the tips of your nail red.
  3. Now add white polka dots to the red, using the dotting tool or a bobby pin, make use you space the dots out evenly.
  4. Next use the small dotting tool or a toothpick, to create a black dot for the middle of your bow.
  5.  Draw a line further out for one side of the bow.
  6. Connect the line to the dot, by filling in a triangular shape and do the same for the other side.
  7. Finally add a top coat and that's it you got your very own Minnie Mouse Nail Art...
For some help these pictures may help you out along the way :)

Hope you girls do try it out and let me know how it went :) xx
