Weekend Nail Art - Blouse Design

August 26, 2012 0 Comments
Hey Dolls,

I know I haven't been consistently blogging about my weekend nail art tutorials and that's because, I really didn't had the time to paint my nails nor to do any nail art tutorials for you girls :(  but as promised I do have a brand new nail art tutorial to share with you today, and am super excited about it :).  I really think that this design is super cute and so feminine to wear and its also very easy to do, all you have to do is follow my step - by- step guide along with the pictures I have taken while doing the design.. So lets get started...

ps. do leave a comment below if you too tried out the design so I could have a look :).

What you'll need:
 ♥ A Dotting tool
  A Fine nail art brush
 ♥ A Top & Base Coat
♥ Nail polishes of your choice

Steps:

  1.  Start off by applying a base coat to protect your natural nails.
  2. Then taking a reinforcement ring sticker, paste it on to your nails as this helps to create a half look. (see pic below)

3. Next paint your nails with a base colour that you have chosen and remove the sticker when the nails polish dries.  I'm use a brown colour from Key Fashion.

4. Taking a different colour nail polish and a nail art brush, start drawing the collar. Begin by drawing an outline of the shape.

5. Fill in both sides of the collar by using a doting tool.

6. Create some dots below the collar to give it the blouse look.

7. Lastly to give it a slight shimmer look, draw a strip using glittered polish just above the collar and finish off the design with a top coat. Enjoy :)

Deepika Padukone's Salwar Kameez

August 21, 2012 1 Comments
Hey Dolls,

I'm really loving what Deepika wore to the book launch of Antilla Mukesh and Neeta Ambani on Saturday 18 August.   Her ethnic attire was from designer Abu Jani Sanddep Khosla, that featured a heavy mirror like work and beautiful embroidery.  She paired the salwar kameez with shimmering Jimmy Choo sliver pumps, a DVF clutch and pretty earrings from Amrapali. Her hairstyle was kept really simple, finishing off the whole look with smokey eyes, matching bindi and matte lips.  I really have to say that this girl can rock both the modern and ethnic attire with style, and I'm giving her a thumbs up :) Way to go Deepika :)

Free Samples

August 21, 2012 1 Comments
Hey Dolls,

I have been receiving lots of samples in my mail recently, and I'm super excited to give each and every sample a try and also show you what I got :). Well most of the products are beauty/skincare products.  I personally think its a great way for companies to give free samples to their consumers as tester so consumers know how the product works on them and what they can expect from it, another great point is that it helps people like me who have sensitive skin know what's good for the skin and what's not, before we go purchase the actual sized product.  Anyway to make sure that you too don't miss out on these Free Samples, I will post the links together with my sample pictures below.  Go check it out!!

Ps. Many of the websites requires you to fill up your particulars before any redemption of free samples.  Hence most of these samples that I have linked are only applicable to Singapore mailing addresses.  If you know of other websites or pages that gives free samples do share it with me by posting a comment .. Thanks :D

Beauty Haul

August 08, 2012 0 Comments
Hey Dolls,

I went shopping on Saturday to stock up my beauty essentials as I was running out on a few products, that I also purchased some new ones too as a try out, since these items were on sale.  I'll be talking a bit more on the new products that I really like, in terms of packaging and results. So lets get started..

The first product is the Oxy Cover. I know I have done a review on Oxy, but I have never tried or did a review on Oxy Cover.  How does Oxy Cover work? Well I do get pimples on my face whenever my period days are nearing and sometimes the pimples are so big that I do find it difficult covering it up with foundation or any kind of cream based medication.  After reading about Oxy Cover I knew I had to try this product out as it says that it suitable for more stubborn cases, helps hide the pimple, prevent new pimples from forming and helps dry excessive oil and unclog pores. I have been using Oxy Cover for the past three days now, either I apply it twice a day or if not every night before going to bed, and I really do see results of my stubborn pimple reducing its redness and the size has simply gonna down.  In terms of packaging it gives consumers a list of what they can expect from Oxy Cover. I got this for SGD $6.90/- .

this is how the packaging looks like, sorry I threw away mine =( Source from Google Image

here's the cream base :)

The second product I wanna introduce is the Maybelline Lip Smooth Color Boom - Color Changing Lip Balm.  Omg!! I love this so much and the way it magically changes from a transparent to a sheer pink blossom color is awesome. I kinda feel bad for not getting the color -peach blossom (gonna get it soon).  My lips does feel moisturized, soft, smooth and healthy after application.  Its not sticky and gives a sweet scent, plus its also SPF 16.  Since it's also transparent I don't have to use a mirror for application when I'm in a rush unlike other lip balms I have used in the past. Packaging is really pretty and does catch the eye :)  I bought this for SGD $2.50/- .

The third product is Vaseline Petroleum Jelly in Aloe Vera which is made for dry/cracked lips. Its very moisturizing and smooth, suitable for any lip type whether dry, cracked or to keep lips hydrated. The texture is a bit oily I must say, overall it perfect but since buying it I have started using it as a night lip care rather than a day-to-day lip balm, because whenever I wake up in the morning my lips do feel dry and applying  this every night has helped  my lips to stay smooth and soft even when I'm asleep. Packaging is very cute and convenient to store. Bought this for SGD $2.95/- .

The forth and finally product is the Pretty Smooth Nose Pore Strips. I don't really massive blackheads but I do have a small portion of it which I hate and have tried as many nose pore strips from all sorts of brands, but never did have impressing results like Pretty Smooth. This product works like magic I have to say, It simply removes blackheads without much pain in terms of removing the strip once the 15mins is up.  I'm likely to purchase and stick to this product for now.  Packaging wise it pretty and the silver plastic is really attractive :) Bought this for SGD $2.50/-.

Braided Nails

August 03, 2012 0 Comments
Hey dolls,

I have been really busy with lots of things and I'm sorry if I did keep many waiting for this tutorial.  So anyway, last weekend I decided to try something way different from my usual nail designs. I was on youtube trying to get some inspiring nail art designs when I came across MissJenFABULOUS youtube channel where she did a tutorial on the braided nails. Yup braided nails, which I found it super cute to wear for the summer and decided to give it a try. Lets get started :) check out the pictures below to provide you as a guide along with the steps.

You'll need:
♥ 3 contrasting nail polishes  - Metallic, Neon and a Pearl Essence
♥ A base coat
♥ A top coat

Steps:
  1. Using a base coat, paint your nails to protect your natural nails.
  2. Then paint your nails, two thin coats of the metallic colour. I'm using purple from The Face Shop.
  3. Next slowly route your finger, to create a think strip of the pearl essence colour. In my case I'm bright pink from Michelle.
  4. Once that's done, cross a strip of the neon colour over the pearl essence. I'm using bright green from Michelle.
  5. Now create a metallic strip directly below the neon colour.
  6. Next cross a strip of the pearl essence colour, across the metallic and continue the crossing using the neon one more time.
  7. Lastly finish off with a top coat to seal in your design.

all finished

you may also wanna try it with different colours.
